Stairs to the Stars

The hanging lanterns of clematis tangutica in hues of lemon-curd and marmalade climb into the neck of the vase like a golden staircase to the stars. In their wake, feathery-tipped seed heads burst against a celestial blue sky and leaves of olive green add to the cacophony of colour.
