Sunshine Magnolia 101/7
Designer: Paul Hilditch
Limited Edition: 100
The famous French botanist to King Louis XIV, Charles Plumier (1646-1704), made botanising expeditions to the West Indies which resulted in over 4000 drawings of plants. Designer, Paul Hilditch, imagines the sight of a flowering tree on the island of Martinique found by the great botanist under a tropical blue sky when he gave it the genus ‘magnolia’. Sunshine Magnolia is the natural fruition of Paul’s imaginings. White petals tinged with coral pinks burst up into the heavens at Les Salines against a Caribbean-blue coloured ground.
